Honours Program

Advanced Placement

If you are planning to go to university or college after high school and you like to be challenged in your learning, you may want to consider one or both of the Honours programs at Jasper Place - Advanced Placement or International Baccalaureate. The Grade 10 Honours program allows you to experience a year of high school that prepares you for either of these programs in Grades 11 and 12.


Advanced Placement (AP)

is an internationally recognized enrichment program that offers acceleration and challenge to motivated and gifted students. One significant advantage of Advanced Placement is that you can take one or more AP courses and/or exams in subject areas of interest to you in order to receive advanced standing at the university level, while continuing with the regular curriculum in your other courses. AP is offered for the following courses at Jasper Place:

  • Biology
  • Calculus AB and BC
  • Chemistry
  • Computer Science
  • English
  • French
  • History
  • Physics
  • Statistics

   

International Baccalaureate (IB)

International Baccalaureate (IB) is designed for students interested in advanced academic preparation for success in university. IB coursework is recognized for admission by the leading universities of most countries and for advanced placement in many of them. With an emphasis on critical thinking, finding links between disciplines and intercultural understanding, IB encourages you to develop a full range of academic abilities while promoting community involvement and intellectual creativity. Earn an IB Diploma, or course certificates in the following subjects:
